Just a poll to find out what percentage of people installed Eeebuntu on top of a machine that came pre-installed with XP or a version of Linux.
Cheers

Eee PC 900 4G 512M. Updated to 2G RAM, 16G SSD. Got rid of Xandros in less than a week. I've only had this thing for around a month.
I don't like Xandros much anyway. I'm more of a Debian guy. Learned on RPM over a decade ago (96-97). Picked up DEB about 8 years ago and haven't had the desire to change again.

I loved Xandros to begin with as everything "just worked"; but little by little, as the shades of night fell down, I had the feel of being nudged by commercialism; and there was the icon which led to a strange offer of "6 months anti-virus" [by ESET...?] free. Now what the heck was that?
It wasn't long before I plumped for the eeebuntu stable.

My 900HA had Windows XP pre-installed on it. It also had a weird partition scheme. It had 3 partitions, one for the OS, one for storage, and then a rescue partition. With the rescue partition inaccessable during normal operations, it left me with 2 usable partitions af 120gb out of 160gb. Needless to say I nuked the factory partition scheme and installed Eeebuntu 2.0 Standard. I then replaced the hard drive with a 320gb 7200rpm one. I think I will be trying the NBR release next.

I became tired of the maintenance required to keep windows safe and working. I went to Linux about five years ago, bought a Mac, and now put eeebuntu on my asus. Not much more to say...

901, 1GB RAM, 12GB SSD.. came with XP. I did my research while it was being shipped. I never even booted to Windows.. did an immediate eeebuntu install.

EeePC 1000H The system was delivered to me at work and Xandros was replaced by EeeBuntu 2.0 Standard when I got home that evening.. The noddy interface was too restrictive which is also why I didn't use the NBR version.
When I bought my EEEPC 900A it came with XP preinstalled. It really annoyed me how much (r@p comes installed I had to spend an hour uninstalling the stuff I didn't want and then installing my stuff. I was left with about 1gb free space which I wasn't very happy about. I stuck with it for a couple of months before installing eeebuntu standard which I am very happy with. It comes with all the programs I want and I have more than 3gb free space left. Nice Work EEEbuntu.

1000HA, Came with XP, now run NBR and XP dual boot. I mainly keep XP for some light gaming(GameTap's emulated games run great, and are 100% legal, pity there's no Nintendo games) and I prefer Media Player Classic with CCCP and CoreAVC for my video needs. It runs fine even with CrystalXP's Vista Inspirat 2 hacked theme pack. I use Eeebuntu for net surfing, essay writing and note taking.
900 with a Dutch version Xantros, it drove me mad, tried vanilla Ubuntu, but I'm not clever enough to tweak it. Thanks for all the work you have put in.
