eeePC model: 4g surf (701
Aurora version: NBR 3.0.1
Hi Everyone:
I'm a total newbie who just received an EEE 701 (used) and then installed EEEbuntu NBR 3.0 via a USB drive. It looks good: I can browse a whole range of websites (except streaming video isn't working, but that's a project for another day!).
But it is VERY laggy! The hardware is standard issue 701 4gb, but it can't even smoothly move the cursor across the screen on the EEEbuntu. It is MUCH faster when I open file browser window, but it seems that the regular desktop background application slows it downs very much.
Can anyone tell me -- do I need to upgrade the RAM just to run EEEbuntu? Not sure I can afford to do that...
