Hello,
Have scoured here and there for help but have not been able to find a fix for testing EB3 (or 4 for that matter) on a USB drive with wifi (RTL8191SE) working on my Asus 1201N. I'm very keen to replace Windows 7 with EB
I've tried EB 3 (It looks great!) on a usb stick with persitence thinking any drivers I install would get wifi working. I tried one suggestion by copying the essential drivers to /lib/firmware and rebooting but no effect. The sound and bluetooth work fine though.
Should I wait for the final release of EB 4 (with support for wifi drivers) and install on the hard drive or can I test EB on a usb stick with wifi working?
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1425140 I hope this will help You should post a little more information like ifconfig and lspci outputs.. or the end of dmesg when you plug your wireless usb interface
EB3 and 4 are totally unlike each other.. EB3 is ubuntu and EB4 is debian based. Personnally I use 4.0 with debian's testing packages and some unstable. I have updates everyday and almost no bugs on my eeepc 1000H. I wouldn't change this distribution EVER, EB4 works great!
I am just saying that because testing EB3 will not help you to know if EB4.0 would work ... xD

Thanks for the reply. I'd given up on an answer. You're right I should have supplied more info. I have an Asus 1201N, so I've got the Atom 330 and the ION chip. I don't have any reference in the forum as to if EB4 in its beta stage would work on a USB drive to test.
After trying EB 4 again my first problem stems from not being able to even get to the desktop as the X server can't work with ION. I'm currently trying to get Ubuntu Remix 10.04 working. I can get to the desktop but just having trouble with wireless.
I'll wait until EB 4 final is released and come back to test.
