So I've done all the steps in transferring the image file to a 2GB USB card, but when I reboot my computer the ASUS start screen doesn't show up; if I hit ESC right when it boots up I can get to the boot screen, but then my computer doesn't recognize the flash drive/eeebuntu. I don't get whats wrong and its seriously irritating me haha. Any suggestions?

Btw, I have the ASUS EeePC 1005PEB with Windows 7 Starter

Does it boot without the USB drive connected?

I'm trying to install it, replace Windows 7. Windows 7 boots fine no matter what, but I can't get eeebuntu to load up so I can install it

The reason I asked that question was to determine if something is jacked up with your USB drive. Perhaps you loaded it incorrectly? I used unetbootin to load the .iso file onto the usb drive.

I used Unetbootin as well. I'm going to get an external disc drive this week so I guess I'll just try copying to a cd.

I thought I read somewhere that you have to have Linux on your computer before you can load eeebuntu? But that didn't make sense since there's so many topics about having windows and eeebuntu as OS options.

I am having the same problem. I have a 1005-peb with windows 7 ultimate on it. I downloaded unetbootin and put the E3 4.0 on an sd card. Then I entered bios and set the boot order to have flash drive first. But when I boot I can't get e3 4.0 to boot.

I used the exact same method before boot e3 onto a 1005-hab and it worked fine. Any suggestions?
