eeePC model: 900 16G
Aurora version: Base 3.0
id like to install padre (perl IDE) on my 'standard' asus eee901
root@eee901:~# cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Eeebuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=3.0
DISTRIB_CODENAME=eb3
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Eeebuntu 3.0"
root@eee901:~#

its in karmic 9.10 repos - but AIUI they arent routinely avaiilable for eeebuntu.

Whats the best way to install it without risking hosing my system
