Hey folks,
I'm running into problems getting my external 19in monitor to work properly.

Whenever I toggle the monitors and set Eeebuntu to only use the external monitor at 1280x1024, the screen locks up and corrupts. I'm not sure how to explain it, the image is present but does not refresh? I click on a menu item but the menu does not appear. The screen effectively "locks" up, but the OS is still running in the background.

This does not occur if I mirror the two screens, but then I'm stuck at a low resolution.

Ideally, I need 1280x1024 on the external. Any ideas?

This occurs on a EeePC 901 running Eeebuntu Base 3.0. Fully updated as of yesterday.

[EDIT] I forgot to mention that this does not happen immediately after I change resolution. It takes 10-15 seconds and then it locks.

I might be speaking too soon, but I think I've fixed it by following the instructions below from this post:

Quote:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get purge asus-eee-dkms
sudo apt-get install netbook-dkms
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

[UPDATE] Yup. Been running it for a few hours now and all is well. If you're going to try the above, make sure to add the extra missing repository. I wish I could tell you which one it was as I just randomly stumbled onto it while browsing the boards. Search for it.
