The Pc runs on Super high performance mode (Witch i have to set manually every time) And when i disconnect the power cable it switch to High performance mode. And when i put the cable back again it switch to Power saver mode...?

Is there a way to change the power modes so they changes in correct order?

I've got the same problem on my 1000HE.
My currently installed eee specific stuff follows (as reported by dpkg -l *eee*):
Quote:
rc asus-eee-dkms 0.3c Eee PC asus-eee driver in DKMS format.
rc eee-applet 0.2-0ubuntu1 A systray applet for Eee Pc
un eeepc-acpi-dkms <ingen> (ingen tilgængelig beskrivelse)
ii eeepc-acpi-utilities 1.1.47 ACPI utilities for EeePC Netbook computers
ii eeepc-laptop-dkms 0.1 Eee PC laptop driver in DKMS format.
ii eeepc-tray 1.0.16 Notification Tray icon for EeePC ACPI Utilities
un grub-ieee1275 <ingen> (ingen tilgængelig beskrivelse)
ii libieee1284-3 0.2.11-5ubuntu1 cross-platform library for parallel port access
un linux-image-eeepc <ingen> (ingen tilgængelig beskrivelse)
un linux-image-eeepc-lean <ingen> (ingen tilgængelig beskrivelse)

Any clue on this?

it can be changed in the configuration options on right clicking the tray .... loook for the "on Ac power" and batt power sections and change accordingly.

Thanks for your quick reply, but unfortunately it is not just done by swapping around this to values, if it is this what you've got in mind.

I will describe chronology what exactly is happening when the power is pluged in and out:

- I unplug the power and the pc switches from "super high performance mode" to "high performance mode"
- I plug it back in again and it switches to "power saver"
- I unplug it and it switches to "super high performance mode"
- I plug it back and its "high performance mode"
- I unplug it and now its "power saver"

As you can see, it is not just swapping "power saver" and "super high performance mode" but skipping around all 3 possibilities by pure coincidence and not in the same order each time.

Meanwhile the screen is dimming and un-dimming just as expected.

I'm having same behavior, besides that, every time I boot the CPU state assumes the "next" state cicling thru the tree options.
If not possible to detect the correct power state, should be better if it, at least, boots in same CPU state as when shutdown. Don't you think?

I hate to revive an old question, but I've been experiencing this behavior for quite some time and I'd like to figure out how to correct it.

Did this question get answered? If so, would someone mind letting us know what that answer was?

many thanks,
john

Perhaps you can try removing all files in /var/eeepc ?? I'm not sure of the exact directory, but it should be listed in the eeepc-acpi.local config file on the top as "var=". Remove all files in that directory and reboot.

Hey TriPgod,

I gave your suggestion a go, and no luck. In fact, that path led to a handful of forced, hard shutdowns (holding the power switch down for an extended time) when my 900ha would hang on shutdown.

Has anyone actually figured this out? It's only a minor annoyance, but if the fix were simple, I'd do it...

cheers,
john
