I did the latest updates and once I did that, I noticed that my eee 901 got really hot and the fan is not working at all. I have a temp monitor and it went up to 71c and the fan never kicked on. Before the update, I use to be able to cat /proc/eee/fan_speed and cat /proc/eee/temperature but after the update, I can no longer do them. Does anyone have any suggestions as how I can fix this.

Also is there anyway to go back from a previous update. It seems like these updates do more harm then good and I've read from others that have said the same thing.

Until someone a little more knowledgeable than me comes along to help answer your other problems, in the meantime I'd suggest setting your eeepc-acpi.local configuration to let the BIOS manage your fan before you end up having some real damage occur from the excessive heat.

I've noticed occasionally that sometimes the fan isn't running. A reboot fixes it for the time being.
