eeeconfigure was present in version 2.0 and we have removed it from 3.0 while it undergoes a major functionality and use overhaul.... it will be appearing in the next few weeks possibly under a new name too
Phew! I was indeed getting stressed not understanding about eeeconfigure and eee-control and ACPI and all that. At least now I don't have to worry about one of those yet.
I'm sure it's all worth it in the end... And it's nice to have all you guys trying to help us newbies make sense of it.

I've also been having the crash on suspend problem and setting FSB_SCALE to 10 seems to have solved it. Question: should I just leave it at 10? I don't mind sacrificing performance, but don't want to hurt the little eee 1000.
[I just installed eebuntu NBR this weekend and I must say it has been a real chore to get it going, even though I've used unix/linux for many many years. I still can't find eeeconfigure on my system...But I will persevere as so much nicer than xandros.]
Yes, you can leave it at 10. It doesn't impact performance, it's the clock reduction scale. Basically I was slowing your Eee's front side bus down too far in battery mode and it was crashing your Eee.
I've made 10 the default for 1.1 in the event that I don't already have the SHE clocks defined so this shouldn't be a problem in the future.
