WOW fans rejoice, the game actually runs on Asus eee 901 running eeebuntu!
How I do it: 1st Installed the game on my ubuntu desktop using the blizzard installer 2nd Get it running on my desktop in order to lower every aspect to minimum 3rd copy the wow folder on the desktop to an external hard disk (for the purpose a WD passport) 4th disable compiz; change desktop background -> effects tab choose "none" 5th make a link of the wow folder and put it on my desktop, change name from "link to wow" to "wow" 6th set wine to emulate a 800x600 desktop and disable all advanced graphic options (vertex shader support and pixel shader) - wine version 1.1.16 directly from winehq 7th open terminal and type cd wow (enter); wine wow.exe (beware of case sensitive letters) and you're running wow at a very low fps, but, IT'S RUNNING.
I can't tell you if I made any changes to the xorg.conf because this was being done at the same time I was trying to get neverwinter nights running (and it's running), but for work purpose here is the paste of my xorg.conf
Quote:
# xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file) # # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using # values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page. # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.) # # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only* # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg # package. # # Note that some configuration settings that could be done previously # in this file, now are automatically configured by the server and settings # here are ignored. # # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated # again, run the following command: # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Might want to mention which (if any) WineTricks scripts you've run. I've tried running WOW thru WINE on my Intel Mac, and always end up crashing. Along with every other 3D game I've tried to install and run thru WINE- like Unreal.
Although someone once reported they got WOW to run on a 701 once, but I dunno if it was thru WINE. The 701 has such weak graphics abilities that I'm amazed it ran at all.

This theme could be a bit too old, however, I must say that I once saw HL2 running on a 701(some korean guy uploaded a vid onto Youtube, dunno, if it's still there)
