Sprint Mobile HotSpot (HTC EVO Droid) connects when set to WEP (128) 13 character (single character) password. No changes made to Network Connections on eeepc 1000 whatsoever. It just hooked up. I entered the simple password when the dialog box came up.
A new wireless network named Auto (Name of my Network) appeared in Network Connections.
I guess this is fine because it is only turned on for brief periods when using the notebook.

At home returned Sprint HotSpot setting to WPA2 with a complex password. iMac was already connected. I booted up the eeepc then selected my network from the list and entered the password when the dialog box came up. It connected.
In System> Network Connections> Wireless there is a new connection named Auto (Name of My Network). I deleted the previous connections I added which did not work.
