Hello everyone!
I have just been dropped here by simply typing 'eeepc ubuntu' in google, then surfed a while and finally found the Aurora project; I could not do anything but register then! I will not say that I am an old Linux-user, my first ext4 partition is actually no older than 72 hours, but as we say in french: 'mieux vaut tard que jamais!'.
I am currently running Ubuntu 10.10 on my 1005HA EeePC and definitely find no big issues with it but my geek-spider-sense always force me to look for the best program or OS ever, it starts to get me tired at last
I am afraid I will not help developpers very much due to my poor IT skills (which are however better than the ones of most people I know...). Nevertheless I believe strongly in that project and hope to support it as well as I can!
It appears to me that there are some negative talks about Aurora because of the time it takes to be released, I have to say that I know this kind of issue and understand it (Jetdroid is another example of it). My point is, no matter how long it lasts, the only thing that does is the final quality of it
Continue to do your great job, I am convinced the result will be just fine Keep us aware of the Eeevolution! Seeya!

You have to relearn everything.

You are so right. That is why I have kept an NTFS Win7 partition in a corner...
Actually I am aiming to run MacOSX SL on that tiny tiny machine, looks pretty hard to do though. (For now I try to change the native Asus BIOS splash screen using CS5, totally useless but quite a good way to learn how to use Photoshop )
So my favorite Eee config would be Aurora (15GB) / MacOSX SL (15GB) / Win7 Ult (25GB) / NTFS Data partition (~90-95GB).
In the wait of it I have found an OSX theme for Ubuntu, not bad at all, I will replace it when I would find out my perfect original Ubuntu or Aurora theme!
Even an idea about the final Look (appearence) of the project?

There are new themes being drawn as well as a new gdm3 screen. Drafts have been floating around the dev team.

That is cool, hope it will be as fast, beautyful and easy-to-use than Mac OS (it is a very important point for many OSX users before they switch to another UNIX-based OS).
Do not forget to put any pic you have of what will be the final aspect of the project, it would help us
