Menu items displayed properly Synaptic installed (it only relies on gnome keyserver libs which are used by the GDM anyway and come in at just under 2mb) Panel version 0.5.3 Apache deps removed, apache libs removed Language deps removed (though ubiquity does add them back in when installing, you can remove them post install, they are not on the livecd) xpdf installed lxmusic now working properly acpi utils at latest version though it doesn't display on the panel (this would require gnome panel and not lxpanel)
The live image runs at 800mb but post install you get 1.4GB, remove the language libs for openoffice etc and it'll come down to around 800mb installed.
Steve.

Yes, thank you. It can over at about 7MB/s (on Virgin).
I used the HP USB formatting tool on Win XP and then followed the Pendrive Linux web site for Xubuntu, but using your .iso file rather than the Xubuntu .iso file. This booted up fine on my HP Mini-note, but after booting up my earlier install (to check the disk partitions) the USB boot seemed to hang when I told it to boot straight into the install. The next attempt to boot off the USB left me at a text prompt.
I redid the USB setup and it booted fine, so I went straight into the install, which has worked well enough for me to post this.

Has anyone else had wifi problems? Seems like the bios is being changed automatically on each reboot, requiring me to manually activate WLAN under configurations at each boot. Also, other problems I noted- SD card reader does not work (same as b1) and F2, F7-9 hotkeys are broken after kernal update. Also, if you have beta 1, a full claen install is needed since your /home configurations will not work right with the lxde updates.. The wifi thing is a serious problem though, and hope there is a simple resolution, or I may have to revert back.

Edit /etc/init.d/eeepc-restore.sh Find the line where it ifs eeepc-wifi.sh poweroff || true Comment the line out and save.

Flash install was successful for me. I first tried the command you showed above and got the same error message.
So I installed libnspr4-dev - success; installed libnss3-dev - success. Then I reissued the dpkg command to install the Flash deb - success.
After my earlier post, I used Synaptic to install flash and it worked flawlessly. But on my 900A, I cannot get network to work after reboot. I have tried multiple times.... when I boot from USB to install, the network works fine, but when I reboot after install it says no wireless networks are available. Huge wi-fi issues. Wired works fine, but that beats the purpose

This worked great! Now wifi works flawless. Other issues that should be addressed: 1.sd card doesn't work. I'm surethere's a fixout there. 2. there is no gui way to change system clock. Mandriva and PLXDE make this much easier. 3. How do you add more than one desktop without installing compiz? 4. I believe GDebi should be pre-installed- just a recommendation. 5. Lastly, does anyone have skype working successfully with mic and sound?
Besides these issues, I think Eeebuntu LXDE is about ready for the big leagues, and am confused as to why it is not already posted on lxde.org considering the fact that Lubuntu which is in much more prelim stages got an announcement shout out on their site last week.

Thanks Steve and the rest of the Devo team!
That's not the best way to fix this issue, the best way is to move up to 2.6.30 and set the pciehp options in grub. What kernel is in the lxde beta?
Hopefully the LXDE beta will incorporate the updates that Siege has documented.

According to a post above, the live distro uses 2.6.28. I would guess that when it updates to 2.6.29, and updates the EEEPC Tray and associated utilities, that an upgrade to 2.6.30 will be necessary to get wireless and video working correctly again. I was hoping that this distro would install the .30 kernel, but it doesn't.
