When I hit 'Suspend' on the login/logoff menu, or the hotkey (Fctn-'moon') The screen goes black like it's supposed to, then, it immediately opens the "unlock" panel instead of sleeping. Anyone else have this problem?, it's killing my battery and shutting down and restarting is sort of a pain.

Here is the pm.suspend log:
===================================================
Initial commandline parameters: --quirk-dpms-suspend
--quirk-dpms-on
--quirk-vbestate-restore
--quirk-vbemode-restore
--quirk-vga-mode3
--quirk-vbe-post
Wed Oct 7 06:32:47 CDT 2009: Running hooks for suspend.
/etc/pm/sleep.d/00-eeepc-cpu suspend suspend: /etc/acpi/eeepc/eeepc-cpu-control.sh: line 286: echo: write error: Invalid argument
/etc/acpi/eeepc/eeepc-cpu-control.sh: line 290: echo: write error: Invalid argument
success.
/etc/pm/sleep.d/00-eeepc-wifi suspend suspend: cat: /sys/class/rfkill/*/type: No such file or directory
/etc/acpi/eeepc/eeepc-wifi-toggle.sh: line 95: $RADIO_CONTROL: ambiguous redirect
Returned exit code 1.
Wed Oct 7 06:32:49 CDT 2009: Inhibit found, will not perform suspend
Wed Oct 7 06:32:49 CDT 2009: Running hooks for resume
/etc/pm/sleep.d/00-eeepc-cpu resume suspend: success.

I also noticed after the suspend fails, the wireless connection is dropped and not reconnecting, I need to re connect by hand.

Looks to me that the inhibitor is the fact that the wifii is not getting powered off. The connection is getting dropped, but it remains on, preventing the rest of the script from processing properly, or, at least the script is not reporting back a proper shutoff. Problem is, I Can't find where the shutoff function is, or how to change the return value to lie to the script and tell it that the wifii did shut down properly to test the theory.

I'll hopefully figure it out, but, there was a bug report of the same problem being resolved in acpi-utils 1.0.6-8Rc3. I ran an update to 1.0.6-9 (current) and see no fix though unless I need to reboot.

I'll keep working on it.. unemployment has it's advantages.

Using s2ram --force works perfectly, and, it brings back both the bluetooth and reconnects the wifii. Anyone know how to replace the menu and hotkey commands to run s2ram or the 'hal-system-power-suspend' scripts instead of what they are currently running?.. HELP!.. :P

It's a total Kludge, but, I simply went to the /etc/acpi folder, copied 'sleep.sh' to 'sleep.sh.bak', then edited the 'sleep.sh' script by gutting it and putting in 's2ram --force' instead. The menu doesn't work, but the sleep button works great now. This is all I need for the moment.

I have the exact same problem. Suspend and Hibernate where working fine until i decided to upgrade EeePC Tray and utilities. I'm running a Msi U100 Plus and the tray does not work very well.

I temporarily commented out radio_poweroff in the eeepc-wifi-toggle.sh and all appears ok, suspend and hibernate work. However i would prefer a better solution to this issue.
