I followed the instructions here

and got this result

I had previously followed the other steps with no dificulties..
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get purge asus-eee-dkms

A search revealed
No posts were found because the word netbook-dkms is not contained in any post.

Where do I go from here?
So far my only solution has been reinstall EB3 and NOT update it at all.

I found this topic

and tried doing
wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/eeepc-a ... b/download
and installing it but after rebooting I still have the screen res problem.

It is a shame eb3 has so many little things wrong now - it was so easy to install last year when it was new.

If I don't find a solution I shall have to reinstall again & not update - I need my netbook working properly tomorrow for a journey.

I did
sudo rm /etc/default/eeepc-acpi.local
then
wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/eeepc-a ... b/download
and installed it

That seemed to fix the problem, but then I changed the screen res to something impossible & now I only get a mess & can't get out of it...

Ok I'm giving up & reinstalling. My suggestion to anyone using eb3 is to NOT update anything if you don't want it broken

Yeah, this whole eeepc tray businss is extremely messy and not taken care of as it has virtually no priority.

You can always change the resolution from the System/Preferences menue
