Is it a 1000ha your using and definately the latest 3.0 kernel?
click, applications > accessories > then terminal
in terminal type
Code:
uname -a
and it will output some information about your system and the kernel it is on.
If possible have you tried a wired connection ? id connect with a wire and accept updates to get the latest packages and see if it makes any difference.

I'm having the exact same problem with Eeebuntu on my new 1005HA. I'm a total noob, but it seems to me that the drivers for the networking devices aren't loading properly, or maybe they just aren't loading at all.

with some ammends: -since you have no internet u have to get to a computer which has, fire up the browser and enter one by one the addresses in the wget command -get the files from where the browser downloaded them and put them on a stick -copy them to your home directory on the eeebuntu machine. Any other directory and you have to make minor changes to the tutorial. -follow the rest of the tutorial
