I moved the top panel to the left side in a vain attempt to get a bit more vertical space. The resulting panel display is all jammed together, unreadable and nearly unusable. I can't find an empty space to right-click to fix it.

I assume I have to edit some configuration file to move the panel back to the top but haven't been able to locate the file. Would some kind soul please help me fix this mess??
