 Post subject: accessing ssd

hello all, i just installed eeebuntu 3.0 base on my eeepc 900. i am having a problem. i installed eeebuntu on the 4 gig drive and now i cant seem to access the other larger (16 gig) drive. any help anyone could offer is greatly appreciated. i am totally new to linux so please be patient.

did you install it on a 900 that previously had windows xp installed?

if you did, then you might have to reformat the drive so that eeebuntu can read it, just open up the synaptic program in system>administration, and in the searchbar type in "gparted" then click on gparted in the list and install it. once installed close synaptic, then go to system>administration>partition editor, on the top right corner there should be a button that says something like "dev/sdX" click on it and see if if your second ssd is on there, and if it is click on it and reformat it to something like ext4 or ext2, then your system should be able to recognize it.

i tried to mount it but it said it could not be mounted??? maybe im doing something wrong. the previous OS was Xandros so no windows was ever on the machine but i will try your suggestion and see how it turns out. thanks for your help i will keep my fingers crossed.
