I've installed EB3 base on my 901 4GB+8GB HD, 1GB RAM
I tried to let just 512MB of swap partition on 4GB HD where I installed the whole Base.
At the beginning it fitted about half the space but only updates ate nearly 150MB
SI installed the basic sw I need (python tools and packages, gimp, abi word and gnumeric, something else) now I have about 800Megs left.
Now I wonder if I'll ever need the 512MB swap for example for some photo editing or so or I'd better free them or I can move 'em to the 8GB hd with success (is it as fast as the 4GB one?).
No problems if reformatting/reinstalling the whole thing is needed.
Thanks for your suggestions, consider I'm a Linux newbie.

I don't know if one SSD is quicker than the other but it doesn't really matter, they will both be a lot quicker than a normal hard drive swap space.
One other thing to condider when sizing the swap is that for suspend to work correctly the swap space must be at least as big as your RAM. A good source on info on sorting out the swap space is: http://www.linux.com/news/software/appl ... swap-space
