when you say you can't find it, have you used synaptic to do a search for the app?

uvcview isn't in the ubuntu repo's.

Try,

#sudo apt-get install luvcview

when installed, use luvcview to run. I'm not sure if it is the same thing but run it and see. If not I'll find a deb and send you the link.

Steve.

Can you post the contents of the file /etc/apt/sources.list, as you might not have the appropriate repositories enabled.

If you don't have any luck with the repo's...

Try this:

http://ubuntu.blueyonder.co.uk/archive/ ... 3_i386.deb

Hi,

Sorry it was my fault! luvcview was available all along, just that I was trying to install lucview. (spelling mistake)

Anyway, thanks for the deb, I got it installed, but I cannot run it... here's the error:

$ luvcview
luvcview version 0.2.1
Video driver: x11
A window manager is available
video /dev/video0
Unable to set format: 22.
Init v4L2 failed !! exit fatal
