These were found by copy and paste your exact question into google, adding ubuntu on the end, and clicking the first link.

In eeebuntu, when you start your PC you are coming to the preference window instead of the Desktop and I think that it is the place where you put all the applications you are using every day.
Tell me if I am wrong.
I think it's a very good idea to put there the icons you are using every day (or week)
The question for me is "how do you do that ?"
I found it : just clic on the icon you want to put in the proeference and slide it into the tab you want

Glad you figured it out, cause I still have no idea what a preference window.
When I start my computer and boot into eeebuntu, I get the GDM where I can login and choose which desktop environment I'd like to start (gnome, lxde...)

Now the last question of this thread is :
How to connect to the Internet on a cabled connection ?

1 ) clic right to the 2 miniscreens on the main Panel and select "Edit connections"
2 ) select the wire tab and clic twice on Auto Eth0
3 )

What I want to know is how do you fill in the routes window.

You may have a guide on this subject ?
Yes ?
Thanks :D

Click around the tabs until you see DHCP and make sure it is enabled. Naturally, your router should be set up with DHCP enabled, too.
After everything is set up, everything will be plug and play.

The problem was :
you cannot configure a wired connection with fixed IP's.
I solved it in directly writing the parameters in the /etc/network/interfaces.

Thanks for your attention :o
