Just a heads-up for anyone who is looking for a bluetooth mouse to travel with their Eee PC running Eeebuntu.

I have a 901 with Eeebuntu 2.0NBR. I just picked up this nifty little mouse by Targus. I love it! I got it from Amazon.com for US$18 !! Yes, eighteen dollars.

It comes with two rechargable AAA and a USB cord to attach it to your system to recharge.

If you pick one up, be sure to turn the AMB03US on and press the little identifier (connect) button to the left of the Targus label.

The 901 picked up on the device when I went to add a new bluetooth device and I only had to adjust the sensitivity of the mouse to make it perfect.

HTH

I picked up this mouse after seeing your post. I'm having some issues with it, though they may have nothing to do with the mouse itself. I'm on an eeePC 1000, running eeeBuntu 2.0. I can get the mouse to synch up fine at first, but then if I power down either the computer or the mouse, it no longer wants to connect. Every time I want to synch the mouse I have to go to the Bluetooth "Preferences" screen, delete the mouse from the list of known devices, and start over from scratch.

Also, the cursor doesn't move until I've been moving the mouse for a second or so, which is a little annoying, but something I suppose I can bear.

Any ideas?

(And while I'm at it, can anyone tell me what that yellow star is supposed to mean in the Bluetooth Preferences, next to known devices? I love that there's not even a tool-tip on the star icon to explain, as if "yellow star" is such a descriptive icon that there's no way we'd need documentation to understand it.)

I had the same problem with connections when using Eeebuntu. I changed to Ubuntu 9.04 and it works every time I boot up now at home. I'd bet Eeebuntu 3.0 will have the problem fixed, too.

If I take the machine to work for some odd reason the same mouse won't connect. The only thing that changes is the wireless network. I can live with that anyway because I have a Logitech wireless mouse that doesn't require any syncing when I plug it in. So I use it for a travel mouse. It's smaller anyway.

I find the deal with coming out of sleep mode a bit annoying myself. Enough so that I might stop using the Targus eventually. Not only because of the sleep/wake up part, but because I like to play with various distros, and the mouse has to be set up for every one I boot, or I have to change the mouse. Since I need another mouse to configure the mouse, there's really not much need to set the Targus up on the stuff I'm only going to boot for a short time.

If I could find a small enough trackball I'd dump all of the meeses and use that instead. All I can find around here are huge Logitech trackballs. I use the Marble one on the desktop. But I'm not going to carry one of those around with me.
