Well, I tried to find an answer here and there - I failed...

I have eee 900 Atheros 242x chip, Eeebuntu 2.0, madwifi 0.9.4 installed with no error messages, wicd from repo, and WPA2 home WLAN - AES, PSK, passphrase, etc...

I can see and connect to my wireless net (and Inet) only untill router has protection disabled. No WPA or WPA2 connection. When I try to type
Code:
wpa_supplicant -D madwifi -i wlan0 -c "<config file with psk, etc>"

it says
Code:
unsupported driver madwifi

The same with -D wext gives again and again following:
Code:
CTRL-EVENTS-SCAN-RESULTS
Trying to associate...
Associated with <my AP MAC >
WPA: IE in 3/4 msg does not match with IE in Beacon/ProbeResp
.....
CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED

Does madwifi support WPA2 on this chip? or should I use wext?
Or maybe someone can post correct wpa_supplicant.conf here?
Looks like I'm one step before finish, Please help!

Thanks in advance!

eeePC model: 4g non-surf (701)
Aurora version: Standard 3.0
The wireless network cards (802.11) are not always compatible with all the AP (Access Points) which has encryption and password protection. Some times even if the computer supports WPA or WPA2, and the AP supports it too, due to the different implementation, you may not be able to connect at all. Some times it is only possible to use WEP as the lowest common denominator.
