nddave01 From what you said maybe your netbook is trying to connect an already assigned IP address.

After deleting the networks and resetting my network it connected. After 5 minutes more or less, the connection dropped and refused to reconnect.
from this quote sounds like you are getting bumped off by another computer. I had a similar issue and similar to this at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=110443 I would try renewing the DHCP leases on all computers. May be a long shot, but; just a thought.

Or assign in the router static dhcp based on mac address. But I had problems with gnome-network-manager and my wpa2 wifi during the private beta. Then all of a sudden, things magically worked. I blamed it on my operational experience with gnome-network-manager. I always had wicd.

Ok, now that my system is well and truly configured with all the trapping... all I can say is, WOW. What an awesome distro, I am very truly impressed. Seems the only thing left is to change the name to something other than eeebuntu...
Love the new login screen, and the brushed metal look. Really like Jupiter, and the 'smart automagic' when it remembers your settings'
After much stuffing around, I realized how easy it is to add the debian (sid) and Ubuntu (lucid) repos for packages not in the repositories. I've installed emerald, cairo-dock, and tomboy this way. They're working beautifully! I'm aware this isn't the most stable way of doing things, so aprt from having my system well and truly backed up with clonezilla, have been installing programs, then removing the repos. I like how you've got the files for each repo under /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ makes it much easier to sort out. Also, the speed and response time of my system seems much faster than it previously was under eb3.
Keep up the great work guys!
I've attached a screenshot of my EB4, happy to share my config files for cairo-dock, emerald, and the wallpaper, should anyone be interested. Cheers,
~ dinky

Is the download ISO always the latest version? I downloaded the first one, but this one is not stopping my 1000H when shutting down the Live USB.
Does anyone know this?
Only one version of the ISO has been distributed to the public.

Now that it is installed I am starting to test it and the first problem that I have incurred is with the WIFI. I cannot log into my router which uses WPA2 for security. The SSID is found by my WIFI card but can't connect. If I switch to an unsecured router in my neighborhood (yes - there are still people who run their routers wide open - bless their souls) I can connect. If I boot in Ubuntu 9.10 I can connect. Any suggestions?
Dave
The only way I have found so far is to use WEP instead of WPA2.
I've got WPA2 Personal working with no tweaks at all. Grab all the updates, blow out your current config for your WPA2 net, restart, and then try again.

I have updated everything using WPA it will connect once or twice dropping the connection after 1 to 2 min then will not connect again no matter what I do. EB3 and Win XP work fine as does connecting with WEP security instead of WPA.
I am doing a fesh install and will update using a wired connection before trying to connect with wifi may be that will work.

Hey guys I ran into a little problem with Update Manager. It closes every time I try to update, so now the only way to update is through terminal. This isn't nencessarily so bad, but it would be good to see a fix. I have already tried re-installing Update Manager, but no luck. Eeebuntu is GREAT, and I would report this in bugzilla, but I never recieved a confirmation email : /. (see picture below)
