Hi Guys, if you are a user of fewts great eeepc-acpi utility please let us know....

Its also goign to help with decisions on ACPI functions for our next release.

Personally I have a 1000 series with (ob) eeebuntu standard running and it runs a charm!

I am using eeepc-acpi-utilities on my 1000.

I love eeepc-acpi-utilities - especially now that the toggle touchpad on/off is working with syndaemon!

Great stuff - highly recommended over eee-control...

Hello from me, im new in the forum, and switched from windows to eeebuntu remix nb, i realy like the easy to use desktop, i used first standard verison but the thing with plug unplug the ac power screwed so much the screen, anyway, will those scripts work on eeepc 904hd, especially like the super hynrid engine to change the performances, so im asking if those scripts will do it on 904hd because eee-control is not working on it.

EDIT: They work very nice with cpufrequtils and p4_clockmod module, many thanks

It used to work great till something happened keeping it from actually executing the scripts. I seem to be the only person with this problem. I suppose I should just reformat with a fresh install.

I'd totally recommend this to anybody with an eee.

I still have a question, why on the modes "ondemand" and "powersave" the cpu is set to 113 mhz, that is too slow, have i to edit the config file and set other settings ?

I am using the eeepc acpi utilities from Fewt as installed from the statusux repos. I cannot get the touchpad toggle to work. I have posted details over on http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=54742&p=14 so am not reposting here.

You set that in the kernel, not in my scripts. ;-)

The man page has good info on that:

man cpufreq-set

Yep, to make it persistent you'll want to add it to a startup config file like /etc/sysfs.conf or script like bootmisc.sh.

so if im right the command should look like this:

Quote:
cpufreq-set -c --cpu -d --min 300 -u --max 900

Is that correct ? Sorry to insist but im a windows user and i moved to eeebuntu because i like it so much, and since eee-control doesnt work on 904HD i use your acpi scripts, what i want is when 'powersave' or 'ondemand' is autoset by removing the AC power is set to at least a good mhz rate, so i hope im on the right way, good thing is that i learn fast.

This is on the Asus 1000 PC with Eeebuntu Standard installed.

When I run the Eeebuntu Config utility, and select ALL, almost everything returns a successful execution. Nevertheless, I consistently get the following error message in my log:

/etc/acpi/eeepc/eeepc-acpi-settings.py ERROR PROCESSING FILE

respectfully,

My setup is very new.. Only about 2 weeks old.

Eeebuntu 2.0 NBR
Asus eeepc 1000HE
Dual-boot with Windows XP Home and Eeebuntu. Used second partition which is about 60Gb and left the original Windows XP at about 90Gb.

Tried eeecontrol which couldn't read my model type, known issue according to site. eee-control-daemon would not start. I2C unable to get bios number or something like that.

I found that using the old Eee config is what caused all the confusion when it tried to run eeepc-acpi-utilities and I got the error message that asus_user got. I went to fewts website and followed the sites instructions. Added the repository and statux.pub key. Updated then ran "sudo apt-get install eeepc-acpi-utilities". It runs through a quick config and I made sure I installed the newest scripts from new repository. I am very very happy to report that almost everything works. I am unable to toggle the touchpad but everything else seems to work. I am still looking for the program settings for the 2 hopefully 4 buttons above the keyboard if it actually exists but for now I'm very pleased. Also volume control is much better then the original setup.

I'm glad that you like the scripts! Look here [ viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2025&p=8369#p8369 ] for a solution to your touchpad issue.

For configuring the silver buttons, in preferences is an Eee PC icon. If you would prefer, 'sudo vi /etc/default/eeepc-acpi'.

Call for testers!

I have packaged version EeePC ACPI Utilities 1.0.25 which brings a few cool changes like:

- Drop overclocked FSB back to normal before suspend / hibernate; restore on resume
- Stop services in ondemand and powersave mode and restart on performance

Before I release this to the general public I would really like for a few of you who wouldn't mind having to back out the installation to test it. The latest package is linked here:

[ http://www.statux.org/downloads/eeepc-a ... 5_i386.deb ]

If you run into a problem and need to remove it, just do this:
Code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge eeepc-acpi-utilities
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get install eeepc-acpi-utilities

This should bring you back to version 1.0.24. :-D

If there are no issues, this is the very package that will be added to the public repository. I've beat on it for hours and can't break it, but I'm changing the CPU management module which shouldn't but may impact users.

Please post your experiences, troubles, etc here!

Thank you!

Announcing EeePC Tray 0.1 - No promise of stability, seeking testers!

Sits in your panel and does stuff when you click it. CPU controls are left click, device management under right click.

Code:
sudo apt-get install eeepc-tray

Please give feedback! I know the icon sucks, working on that.
